Quala Mepivacaine HCl 3% Injection USP without Vasoconstrictor is a plain amide-type local anesthetic supplied in standard 1.7 mL dental cartridges, 50 per box. It is indicated for infiltration and regional nerve block anesthesia in routine dental procedures, and is especially useful for patients in whom epinephrine or levonordefrin vasoconstrictors are contraindicated, such as those with significant cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled hypertension, arrhythmias, thyroid dysfunction, or sulfite allergy. Mepivacaine's intrinsic mild vasoconstrictive activity provides pulpal anesthesia of roughly 20-30 minutes by infiltration and 34-45 minutes by inferior alveolar nerve block.
