The Hu-Friedy Distal End Cutter, Flush Cut with Hold (678-111) is a precision orthodontic instrument designed to cut and hold wire distally flush to the buccal tube or bracket, reducing the risk of debonding and preventing cut wire segments from being aspirated or causing soft tissue injury. It accommodates all wire types up to a maximum of 0.020" (0.51 mm) and features a long handle with Immunity Steel construction for durability and repeated sterilization. Each cutter ships with one silicone insert pre-loaded in the working end plus two spare inserts; replacement inserts (678-011) are available separately, and a 50% thinner version is offered as 678-113.
