The probe tip features precisely cut 3, 6, 9, and 12 mm markings, while the explorer tip is hand-sharpened to a fine point; both tips are made from spring-tempered stainless steel and machine-ground to exacting tolerances. Color coding is applied at extreme temperatures so the color penetrates the surface of the tip, and the instrument is fitted with a satin steel DuraLite round handle.
