Metrex MetriCide 28 is a 2.5% glutaraldehyde high-level disinfectant solution intended for use in a tray system with noncritical, semi-critical, and critical devices, including anesthesia and respiratory therapy equipment, metallic instruments, rubber and plastic objects, and thermometers. The solution may be reused for up to 28 days provided the minimum effective concentration (MEC) of glutaraldehyde remains within acceptable parameters as verified by a chemical indicator. Testing the solution prior to each use with MetriTest 1.8% Test Strips is recommended to help prevent healthcare-acquired infections (HAIs).
