Whip Mix Mounting Stone is an ISO Type 3 very hard, fast-setting gypsum material formulated expressly for mounting casts to articulators. Its very low setting expansion (0.08%) prevents inaccuracies in occlusal cast relationships that can occur with conventional model stone or plaster, and it can also be used as a model stone when a rapid set is required. It offers a 2-3 minute working time, 5 minute setting time, and compressive strength of 4,600 psi wet (1 hr) and 8,500 psi dry (48 hrs).
