OraVerse (phentolamine mesylate) is the first and only local anesthesia reversal agent, indicated to accelerate the return of normal sensation and function after routine dental procedures using a local anesthetic with a vasoconstrictor. Each cartridge contains 0.4 mg/1.7 mL of phentolamine mesylate solution, supplied as one blister pack of 10 glass cartridges (17 mL total). In clinical trials, median recovery of normal sensation was 50 minutes in the upper lip and 70 minutes in the lower lip for OraVerse patients versus 133 and 155 minutes, respectively, for the control group.
