Hu-Friedy Perma Sharp absorbable sutures are braided polyglycolic acid (PGA) sutures with a violet dye for enhanced visibility during intraoral soft tissue closure, including extractions, periodontal surgery, and implant placement. Each suture is 18 inches long with a 5-0 caliber and a C-22 reverse cutting needle (3/8 circle, 16.2 mm) made from a proprietary stainless steel alloy with laser-drilled needle-to-suture transition for smoother penetration and less tissue disruption. PGA retains strength for 14-21 days and is fully absorbed in 50-90 days, eliminating the need for suture removal. Each box contains 12 individually packaged sterile sutures.
