Hemodent is a buffered aluminum chloride topical hemostatic solution used to rapidly control minor gingival bleeding during crown and inlay preparations, before impression taking, during direct restorative procedures, and in minor surgical procedures such as curettage, gingivectomy, and deep scaling. Its epinephrine-free formula avoids the systemic cardiovascular effects associated with epinephrine, making it suitable for medically compromised patients, while the buffered chemistry provides a physiologically compatible pH that minimizes tissue irritation. The non-staining solution does not interfere with dental adhesives or resin cements when rinsed thoroughly after application. Each bottle contains 10 cc of solution.
