Knit-Pak is a non-impregnated knitted gingival retraction cord made from 100% cotton, supplied as a 100-inch (254 cm) length in a color-coded dispenser bottle. Its interlocking knitted chains carry greater quantities of hemostatic solution than twisted or braided cord, and the cord compacts under pressure into the sulcus without fraying or popping out. The cap contains a stainless steel cutting blade that slices the cord on closing to prevent cross-contamination, and the cord cuts clean if touched by a bur. Size 3 is color coded yellow and is intended for use with Hemodent hemostatic agent or Traxodent for tissue displacement prior to impression taking.
